School Matinees

The PTC Student Matinee Program is designed to expose your students grades 6 to 12 to live professional theatre so they can develop an understanding of and love for this great art form.

Pioneer Theatre Company’s Student Matinee Program is made possible, in part, through the support of Salt Lake County’s Zoo, Arts and Parks Program, The Simmons Family Foundation, The Meldrum Foundation Endowment Fund, and R. Harold Burton Foundation.

Pioneer Theatre Company provides educators, courtesy of the George Q. Morris Foundation, with a Study Guide (follow link to download the current Study Guide) to enhance their experience. We also provide a “talk-back” session post-performance with the actors the students just saw on stage, assistance with ticket prices and, in some cases, transportation.

Wednesday Student Matinees are held for all shows of Pioneer Theatre Company's season and are open to school groups only. These performances are exactly the same as the evening performances, and feature the same quality professional theatre.

Student Matinees begin at 2 p.m. and are always held on Wednesdays. Ending times vary for each show. Tickets range from free to $14. (Student group tickets, for evening performances, are also available on Mondays and Tuesdays.)

Matinee tickets are limited and are reserved on a first come-first served basis. For best seating and the greatest convenience, call PTC's Educational Coordinator at 801-585-9840, or email: education@pioneertheatre.org.
